Why It's Special

3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid: 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid is the most potent and stable form of Vitamin C that provides the best absorption into the deepest layers of the skin without causing irritation, as compared to the normal forms of Vitamin C. On top of that, it offers all the primary benefits of Vitamin C, such as skin brightening, fading of hyperpigmentation, reduction of inflammation, slowing down premature aging by boosting collagen production and it is also a powerful source of antioxidant. Most Vitamin C Serums turn brown very quickly due to its instability but ours stay stable even after opening! Nonetheless, to preserve the longevity of your serum, make sure your dropper is capped tight!

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract: Calm & hydrate skin, antioxidant protection

Kakadu Plum Extract: Highest Vitamin C content in the world, contains 100 times that of oranges to help fight signs of aging, refine skin texture, soothe inflamed skin and enhance skin radiance.

Water, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Propanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizinate, Xanthan Gum, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Terminalia Ferdinandiana Fruit Extract

Dishonest promotion

In response to their reply, whatever "reasonable" period of use is unreasonable once your staff lies about the expiry being more than a year of the actual expiry date. I only stocked up more than usual because I was informed of the 2026 expiry, which is significantly longer than 2025. Anyway, the Vitamin C serum clearly spoiled before the expiry date, so I'm not sure how you will PR explain away that.
By the way, the staff who told me about the 2026 expiry is the co-founder, so perhaps the misinformation is more dishonest than you are letting on. I don't expect a refund/replacement at this point nor do I want any. This business has questionable ethics and I wouldn't want anything from this brand on my face.

MY REVIEW:
I made a review back in Nov 2024 about their dishonest promoting of products by telling buyers they only expire in 2026, when majority of what I purchased expired in Mar 2025. In addition, the Vitamin C serum started coagulating and changing in texture in Nov 2024, making me feel uncomfortable to use and having to dispose it early.
I made the review as part of an honest assessment of the product and the way the company runs and treats it customers. They then responded to me stating it was all a mistake and they would be glad to replace the items, but then proceeded to ignore my email. I don’t need replacements if they did not want to replace them since I have already purchased from other skincare brands. I just find it distasteful to first falsely advertise the expiry on the products, claim to be willing to make replacements, and just ignore emails.

Just to clarify, I purchased the products in bulk when they had a pop-up at Guardian and their staff (including the face on their ads) told me the products would expire in 2026 and were worth stocking up. When I checked the products, 80% of the purchase expired in March 2025 including 2 bottles of Retinol, 2 bottles of Probiotic Milk, 3 bottles of Vit C serum, 1 Facial Cleanser, 1 Toner. Conveniently, they don’t print the expiry on the boxes of the products themselves so I could not check there and then, and naively trusted them.
This is honestly disappointing business ethics for a brand I supported for more than a year previously.

MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I bought a few bottles before, and I stocked up during their stint with Guardian. When I asked the staff from Oh Hello Bae about the expiry, they told me all the bottles were brand new and super worth stocking on since they would only expire in 2026. When I purchased 3 bottles of every item, I noticed all my Vitamin C serums, and Probiotic Face Milk were due for expiry in March 2025. (You can’t check during purchase since the expiry is only on the bottle itself and not on the packaging.) It’s Nov 2024, and my Vitamin Cs have solidified in a way I don’t even dare to put them on my face, even though they are supposed to expire in Mar 2025. I have had two bottles of Vitamin Cs I finished before this, so I know what they are supposed to look like. These are brand new out of the box I’ve never opened them and only ever stored them in a cool, dark and dry place. I find the business quite dishonest based on this experience. And while I enjoyed the Retinol serum, I won’t support them again. Honesty is key in any service, the fact that the staff lied to me to get me to stock up is already bad enough, now the item is not usable when it has not even expired is just beyond me. Extremely disappointed by this experience when I was excited to support a local brand. If you’re purchasing, just do so bottle by bottle, and at your own risk.

THEIR RESPONSE:
Dear Q, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I’m so sorry for the mistake, and I want to clear up the misunderstanding regarding the expiration dates of the products you purchased. The serums you bought do indeed have an expiry date in 2026. However, it seems that the older stock with an expiry of March 2025 was mistakenly sent out and I sincerely apologize for the mix-up. We do have a policy in place where the older batches, with expiry dates of 2025, are sold at a discounted price on Shopee, and the expiry date is clearly stated in the product listing. It looks like you may have received these by mistake, which was never intended for sale at full price. To resolve this, we’d be happy to offer you a replacement of the products with the correct batch expiring in 2026. If you could kindly email us at [****], we’ll arrange for a swift replacement at no additional cost to you. Again, I’m truly sorry for this oversight, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We want you to feel confident in your purchases with us, and we’ll make sure this issue is corrected immediately.

Updated Reply:

Dear Q,

I’m genuinely sorry to hear about the experience you’ve had with us, and I’d like to assure you that this situation doesn’t reflect the values we stand for. Our brand has always operated with transparency and integrity. It’s simply not in our best interest to mislead any customer about expiry dates or any other product details.

If our staff communicated a 2026 expiry date, she would have checked the products before providing that information as the packaging was not sealed. It is possible we also had stock with a 2025 expiry date available for sale at the same time, which was sold alongside the other items. Since the pop-up sale took place in April 2024, we considered a one-year expiry reasonable for those products.

We apologize for the misunderstanding, and we consider it an honest mistake—no attempt to mislead or confuse you was ever made.

We have a straightforward refund and exchange policy in place, and we encourage customers to reach out with valid receipts or order numbers for any issues that arise. There’s absolutely no benefit to us in fabricating expiry dates—doing so would jeopardize the trust we work hard to maintain.

We are always happy to exchange or refund any items where possible. However, since we did not receive the receipt for the purchase and considering it has been seven months since the transaction, we’re unable to trace the specific sale in our system or process the return. We sincerely apologize for not following up with you to explain this in detail, and we will certainly improve in our business operations in future to ensure we follow up with the customer.

As for the serums, please be assured they are safe to use till expiry. We have done safety and efficacy tests to ensure the products are safe and effective to use till expiry printed on the box.

Please let us know if there’s anything else we can assist with, and we will do our best to help resolve the matter.

Thank you for your understanding.

____________________________

Hi Q, we sent you an email regarding this previously asking for your order number but we did not receive a reply. We understand your frustration and would like to clarify the timeline and our response. Based on your review, we initially thought the feedback was referring to an order made in November 2024, which is why we offered a replacement at the time. We believed that you had received products with the March 2025 expiry. However, after reviewing your purchase details, we now understand that your order was actually made in April 2024, which does indeed correspond to products with a March 2025 expiry.

To clarify, the products you purchased in the pop up in April 2024 were sold with the March 2025 expiry, which is a one-year shelf life from the manufacture date. As such, it is within a reasonable period for use, and these products are safe to use until that time. We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication at the pop-up event, where our staff mistakenly informed you that the products would expire in 2026. We will ensure better clarity going forward. For a refund and exchange, we require a receipt or order number to process it. As 7 months have passed since your purchase at the Guardian pop-up event, unfortunately we are unable to retrieve the receipt or order confirmation from that transaction.

no effects on me

the texture of this vit c serum is lightweight yet it took awhile to absorb into my skin. I think the bottle can be improved, I had issues with the dropper. Didn't see any improvement in skin tone or brightening. I was hoping this would be a good alternative to my usual vitamin c.
